Parish library

The library was founded on February 13, 1994, when rector Fr. Casadia prepared the first stack of books for parishioners. Nowadays, the main and auxiliary funds hold more than 2500 titles of books and brochures. A separate place is occupied by the binder of magazines for several years, “New Jersian Catholic Newspaper”, “New Poland”, the Catholic Evangelistic Magazine “Love each other”, as well as the binder of newspapers and brochures of our parish “Dawn of Bordentown”, “Accept Life,” “Chronicle of the life of the parish of the St Mary's Roman Catholic Church”, a calendar of Catholic holidays for each year. In accordance with the recommendations of the New Jersy Diocese, the library compiled catalogs of literature in alphabetical order, thematic focus and authors. At the initiative of the abbot, the books were systematized in 20 sections and 215 points. Such as: the Bible, scriptures, spirituality, Christianity, theology, philosophy, history, children's literature, etc.

The foreign literature section contains books in English, German, Polish, Lithuanian, Spanish, Ukrainian. Everything is cataloged in sections. In a separate cupboard rare books published by the past centuries are kept.

The library has 180 titles of video cassettes, 160 DVDs and CDs. 118 discs of the Catholic video magazine CANA. They compiled catalogs in the image of subscription editions. Fillings with books and video cassettes are carried out centrally according to catalogs and thanks to parishioners who bring a lot of good literature or donate to the library. So we have the opportunity to acquire interesting literature in retail.

After registering books, the “New arrivals to the library” stand is updated. When writing to the library, each reader leaves their data and list in the book of accounting. The librarian starts a special form, which takes into account the issued literature or video tapes and discs. Registered more than 200 actively reading parishioners.

The library operates on an agreed schedule throughout the week and is required every Sunday before and after serving in the Church.

By permission of Father Miron, the library is used by teachers, students of educational institutions, as well as everyone interested in Christianity, religion, history, theology, and philosophy.

We help the parishioners to collect a spiritual, Christian, informative personal library. At book auctions for a donation, you can take the proposed book - religious, historical, artistic, children's, etc.

In the library you can always find commemorative postcards with views of the temple, stained glass windows, brochures: "Chronicle of the life of the parish by year", "History of the temple in Bordentown", photographs of significant events in the church.

In a colorfully designed book of reviews in the excursion library, visitors and readers leave notes about the admiration for the temple, express their respect and wish more useful and interesting books and CDs for adults and children
